Okada

Photo:One way of getting around Lagos is on commercial motorcyle locally called Okada. They are fast and dangerous and easy to meander through traffic that perenially cripples Lagos. As much as we love to hate them, an okada miight just be the saving grace you need to meet that very important job interview. But watch out as they have been known to cause accidents which have crippled many and left a lot of people dead.

All the world over traffic is a problem.
I was thinking the other day, as I sat in traffic, that I should get myself a little moped or motor bike just so I could zip through the traffic with ease!

But they can be so dangerous as well!

I'm looking forward to looking at your blog every day. I've been very interested in Lagos since I read an article in the New Yorker last year. It struck me as the scariest place to go on the planet. I hope I change my mind.

Is good to hear from a part of the world that has not been a part of the DPs up to now. Motorcycles are economical to use and thats one good thing!

Motor cycles can be very efficient because the roads become more populated with cars and the roads are not getting wider!

@rachel
i hope i will be able to show you Lagos first hand, the challenges and the beauty and then hope you will change your mind and pay a visit.
